# PALI Token

PALI is Palliora's native token. It pays for private computation, secures the Guardian network and the coordination ledger, and gives every role a financial reason to follow the rules.

## What PALI is used for

| Use | How |
| - | - |
| Paying for computation | Compute Contract fees are settled in PALI on the network. End users of products built on Palliora don't need to hold it. See [Fees and incentives](https://docs.palliora.org/learn/concepts/fees-and-incentives.md). |
| Staking | Guardians and validators stake PALI as collateral. Misbehavior can be slashed. |
| Rewards | Guardians, compute nodes, verifiers and validators earn PALI for their work. |
| Product fees | Customers of Palliora DeFi and Palliora AI pay in fiat or stablecoins. PALI works in the background to settle the computation underneath. |

## Testnet PALI

PALI on Manas is a testnet token with no value. Claim it from the faucet, see [Get test tokens](https://docs.palliora.org/use/get-test-tokens.md).

The SDK uses 18 decimals: `tokenToBigint("100")` turns 100 PALI into on-chain units. The CLI takes whole numbers in milliPALI, so `--amount 1000000` means 1,000 PALI.
